"At ESCRS three years ago I came across the surgical beds made by UFSK International. I was exhausted, jet lagged, walking across the show floor in Munich when I cam across a surgical bed that looked like a Ferrari. We were going to be opening a new surgery center in two months and had not finalized our bed selection."
Huge plusses were:
- no cords at all - battery powered, recharge each night
- patient walks into surgery center jumps on chair and goes to surgery, comes out to post-op and are discharged when they come off chair. There is no physical transporting or heavy labor for nursing staff. One person can wheel the beds throughout the surgery center fully loaded; we did get automatic door openers so a single person could do this all by themselves
- you can go all out or ala carte on what you buy
- surgeon can control nearly all functions of the bed with foot controls or he can have the staff do this with hand held remote
- you can get color schemes which is additional bonus.
- the chairs would survive a thermonuclear blast. Very rugged, very German, and it will likely outlast our surgery center. "
"We bought 4 of them (Model number 600 XLE) and have loved every minute. Nothing is on the market like them from what I have seen in quality and functional use. The staff loves them. I have spoken to several docs around the country who have looked at them and the ones that have bought have been quite happy.
I worked with the two brothers Chris and Jurgen Scherrieble from Regensberg, Germany who are principals in the company. It is a family business with Hermann their father at the helm.
Since we bought our chairs SBG / Visionequip (Kevin McWilliams, kevin@visionequip.com ) has become the USA distributor of the chairs. I am not paid in any way shape or form and I am just a happy user of a surgical bed I chanced upon three years ago at ESCRS."
